Mentors work with our students in a number of capacities ranging from tutoring academic subjects to modeling correct behavior in various professional situations. Other mentorship activities might include health awareness counseling, career guidance, college applications, managing financial issues, deciding on a career path....anything that a student might need help with.
Each mentor must meet NYDC standards and go through an individual assessment and orientation to prepare them for the rigors and rewards of mentoring. NYDC administrators provide mentors and mentees with support to ensure a wholesome initiative.
If you would like to begin the process of becoming a mentor, please complete this form and one of managers will get back to you with more information and step by step instructions on how mentoring works, and how you can play an essential role in helping a young person make crucial life decisions.
